The Sheriff's Office has 8 full time and 3 part time Communications Officers.The Communications Division provides dispatch services to the Jay County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, all 6 city fire departments, Jay County EMS, the Town of Pennville and other county entities. The 9-1-1 Communications Center is responsible for answering all emergency 9-1-1 calls that are placed in Jay County.
The Communications Division is supervised by 911 Director Bill Baldwin. Contessa Stilts is the Assistant 911 Director & IDACS Coordinator. Nancy Culy is the Assistant IDACS Coordinator/Trainer.
Jay County 911 also has a 911 messaging system called "Textty" If you cannot call 911, use any mobile phone to send a text message to "911" for help.
