Regarding the kidnapping incident that occurred on 10/20. This incident is still under investigation. The case only involved persons in the Hispanic community and was an isolated incident. There is no one else targeted and fortunately, the girl involved was found safe and fine a couple of hours later. There is no reason to believe that anyone else is in danger, as stated, this was an isolated incident between certain persons. There will be an update statement following the conclusion of the investigation. As always, the Sheriff’s Office will continue to ensure everyone’s safety, and, if there is any concern or questions about that safety, we will address it and inform the citizens of Jay County.
